Traditional Cupping

Traditional Cupping for the relief of chronic pain

Traditional Chinese Cupping is a therapeutic technique rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. During the treatment, the therapist places specialised glass or silicone cups on the skin, usually on the back, shoulders, or legs. A gentle vacuum is created inside each cup—either by heat or suction—drawing the skin and superficial muscle layer upward into the cup. The cups are typically left in place for several minutes, creating circular marks that fade naturally over time.

The suction stimulates blood flow, encourages lymphatic drainage, and helps release muscle tension and stagnation. It is commonly used to relieve back and neck pain, reduce inflammation, support recovery from colds, and promote overall relaxation. Many people report feeling a sense of warmth, looseness, and deep relief in the treated areas, along with improved circulation and a refreshed, energised feeling afterwards.
